Come join us for fine coffee, company and 6 hours of fantastic local musical offerings. Begin your Newtown Festival adventure with the refreshing songs of:

10.00am –  Emmett Sutherland performs his original songs, influenced by the sounds of the early Beatles, Queen, Burt Bacharach and Randy Newman. Emmett is a Wellington based songwriter recently graduated from NZ School of Music. You’re sure to enjoy the musical talents of this fresh local talent.

11.00am –  Ruby Solly is a Ngai Tahu musician, composer and writer. Her music draws influence from Tom Waits, Nick Cave, Patti Smith and traditional folk. She prefers the dark, but sings it all with a smile. Armed with cello, ukulele, mandolin and brown sugar vocals, this up and coming little lady not to be missed.

12.00pm – Gypsy Moon return to perform their energetic, soulful grooves from their latest Ep. If you missed the recent launch at Black Coffee here’s your chance to see what the buzz is about.

1.00pm – The Gracious Deviants play original acoustic live from Wellington NZ. Two voices, two guitars, one highly creative collaboration and four times the Awesome! You do the maths.

2.00pm – Frim Fram are Lucy Macilquham on vocals and Ammanuel Addis AKA Manny on guitar. Lucy and Manny are developing a reputation for their effortless yet polished sound, intriguing interpretations of old jazz standards and for winning over this is us who are self proclaimed ‘jazz haters’.

3.00pm – Singer, songwriter, guitarist Graham Flaws will perform his unique,catchy, thoughtful original songs solo. Fresh material for an upcoming album several years after the release of his debut – On Location
