Cath Rogers is a Wellington based multi-disciplinary artist, creating large scale contemporary artworks then turning them into flamboyant one-of-a-kind wearable art pieces.
Her wearable art will feature in a group show opening at the Newtown Festival in Newtown’s newest gallery ‘Twentysix’. Here Rogers takes her art to the next level by transforming her work from canvas to wearable art presented by roving models.
Rogers craving of culture and for enriching, fun experiences have compelled her to create bright and electrifying works whose imagery is life enhancing, joyful and uplifting. Witness Rogers’ artworks leaping off the canvas, on to the body and into the streets.
For a true change in society, Rogers found the message of her works had to come out of the gallery and into the streets. “Individuals need to be empowered to express who they truly are and demand the change they want to see in the world.” Cath Rogers 2021.
You can catch the models in their unique avant-garde attire at the show from 1pm – 4pm, then around the fair after 4pm.
