Part blues, part soul, Charlotte Kerrigan’s lyric driven songs comment on adult life and the challenges we deal with. The piano based music is complemented by sax and is in turn cruisy and mellow, as well as containing upbeat bluesy numbers .

Charlotte released her debut EP ‘Metaphor’ in 2018, recorded at Surgery Studios with Lee Prebble. The album entered in at #1 on the NZ Top 40 Heatseekers albums and #7 in NZ Albums Top 40.

Her 2nd album ‘Paper Lanterns’ was due to be released in March 2020 with a show at Te Raukura Ki Kāpiti but with the world pandemic the show was cancelled. The album was released online anyway and thanks to sales on Bandcamp still entered at no.20 in the NZ Album charts. ‘Paper Lanterns’ has a bluesy soul sound with a mix of gorgeous melancholy ballads as well as more upbeat blues numbers.

Charlotte Kerrigan has been performing in Kapiti for over 15 years with her original music and covers bands Bluesette, Retro Divas and at Coasters Musical Theatre.

"Paper Lanterns is a collection of soulful, bluesy ballads with melodious jazz influence, and weighty compassion in her lyrics. The vocals are exposed in their richness; captivating, harmonious, and with crazy good pitch."
