Harriet and the Matches formed in January 2005 after long-time musical companions Jessie Moss and Amiria Grenell solidified what had been casual jamming. Harriet and the Matches have released their debut e.p “Ata Takahi” 2005, and their full length album is due for release at the end of March 2008. Harriet and the Matches use music as their tool for change, speaking of social and environmental justice in song. Any opportunity to share their music in celebration of peace is welcomed.

www.myspace.com/hummelmusic
Jess Chamber and Andy Hummel will perform a duo set for the Wilson street stage, Newtown Fair 2008. They will also be joined by feature artists Age Pryor and Justin Firefly.
Following collaborations with electronica artists Rhian Sheehan, Module, and The Upbeats (LOOP Recordings catalogue www.loop.co.nz), I'm returning back to old-fashioned music making. Just a guitar and simple songs. Minimal, delicate and honest...folky. Am just putting the finishing touches on my solo album which was recorded down at the Surgery with Lee Prebble. Justin "firefly' Clarke was in the Producers seat putting up with my lippyness. He remains slightly traumatised but I think he will recover...eventually :) The band and I are playing gigs around Wellington, I'll keep you posted. Album due out in March 2008!
***
Hummel is a well established wellingtonian purveyor of orb-style dub ambient and frippertronic guitar treatments. he combines field recordings, broken beats, atmospheres and acoustic guitar in a live audio collage, weaving an intricate blend of folk and glitch-click electronica into an organic latticework, from downbeat to beyond.
He has experience in playing and writing music, in both bands and as a solo artist, as well as presenting works of theatre and performance poetry, but is perhaps best known as either additional vocalist for pop-experimentalists Cloudboy, his live work with Rhian Sheehan and his remixs of the Black Seeds, Rhian Sheehan, and Pitch Black.
"a sonic journey from lo-fi beginnings through spoken-word samples, live guitars, gentle songs, and techno-static. experiments never sounded so fruitful."
