Housewitches

Housewitches play fuzzy muff rock songs which tackle some of the big issues of modern life – gender identity, the plight of native migratory fish, colonisation and strange social pressures and expectations of all shape. Their kaupapa also includes making you dance!

The band consists of four friends who like writing tunes, distorted guitars and sharing the fun. Since it’s 2020 they also encourage listeners to check their privilege (while checking their own, too).

Their influences include IDLES, Courtney Barnett, Sleater-Kinney and the Buffy theme song.

The band are thrilled to be playing the Wilson Street Stage at Newtown Festival.
