Boasting a line-up which includes members of Moses, Housewitches, Sweaty Betty, Kittentank and Echo Beach, Wellington’s Tidal Rave draw influence from a variety of styles, including a healthy dose of the surf rock alluded to in the group’s name.

Their debut EP was recorded (2017) in the long-serving live-venue-turned-recording-studio Chicks Hotel in Dunedin by in-house engineer Tom Bell. At the beginning of 2018, they have added a Synth Player – bringing them up to a six-piece. They are currently working on their debut album and released a single in September 2018 called ‘Fomo.’ In 2018 they played their first clutch of shows outside of New Zealand in Melbourne and had a blast. In March 2019 they released the second single, ‘Dark Wizard,’ from their debut album. They have supported and played alongside the likes of Swim Team, Bench Press, Hex, The Echo Ohs, All Seeing Hand, Teeth, Tigers of the Sea, and Dad Jokes. They have also played; The Newtown Festival, Now and A Gathering in the Forrest.

"FOMO is lighter – there’s more space around the three guitars to let the song breath – and the combination of keyboard with those three guitarists brings to mind the wry chamber pop of another 1980s/ 90s Flying Nun band The Able Tasmans, or perhaps even the Sarah Records pop of bands like Even As We Speak."
