TOOMS are a noisy bass and drum duo from Tamaki Makaurua. Their uncouth and dishevelled music is engaging and off-kilter with its intertwining Jekyll and Hyde vocals, fuzzed out bass and catastrophic drumming. TOOMS play a distinct, raw and idiosyncratic version of punk.
TOOMS have played some pretty cool shows too, having been lucky enough to open for Sleaford Mods, Divide & Dissolve, Propagandhi, Street Chant & The D4. TOOMS have also appeared at Borderline and Whammy Fests as well as The Others Way and New York’s New Colossus Festival.
In 2022, TOOMS released a full length album entitled Fake Teeth via 1:12 Records. They had previously released a cassette through Arcade Records and a subsequent EP.
In TOOMS, Dorian Noval hits the drums. She has previously played with Jazmine Mary, Natural Glow and Exit Fear. Nich Cunningham is on bass and has also played in The Moonlight and Lost Rockets as well as releasing two EPs under his own name.
