The WCSCC Dragon and Lion Troupes deliver a high energy Kiwi version of this traditional Chinese dances. The troupes are in high demand for celebratory and community events. Workshops provide the audience with an opportunity to have a go and test their skills. The luminous dragon dance is unique and is a real crowd pleaser. The troupes have performed throughout the North Island, Christchurch and Hong Kong.
WCSCC has Chinese dancing for girls aged from 5 to 13 years in the summer months. Each year our dance troupes dedicate their holiday time preparing to perform on stage at the Chinese New Year Festival in Wellington and poher public events through the summer months. Our troupes dance to traditional Chinese folk songs taught to them by our teenage members who have performed for WCSCC in earlier years.
