花溪 (Flower Stream) are a Chinese/Pākehā/Māori duo from Tāmaki Makaurau. Maxwell brings energy and versatility to the band as the drummer, as well as being a multi-instrumentalist in the studio. Huiming, originally from China, plays bass, guitar, guzheng, and provides lead vocals.

花溪’s music blends elements of psychedelic dream pop, punk, noise, and hip-hop with innovative Chinese influence from Huiming’s guzheng playing. Their lyrics are a blend of English and Mandarin, adding to the cultural diversity present in their sound. 花溪’s live performances are eclectic and showcase their versatility, with Maxwell’s creative drum beats and Huiming’s multi-instrumental and vocal abilities.

Maxwell (Stay Foolish, Badcorporation, Sans Valeur) has been a part of collaborative performances on various instruments with Jazmine Mary, Whyfi, Melodownz, Dbldbl, PolyHill and Shiraz & LSJ, while Huiming is a newcomer to the New Zealand music scene.
