Presented by The Blackhouse Project — a grassroots radio show and podcast on Wellington Access Radio 106.1FM.

Airing Saturdays from 3–4pm, The Blackhouse creates space for conversations around history, lived experience, ideas, music, and community — centering Black diaspora voices in Aotearoa and encouraging more unapologetic spaces to exist.

In 2025, AFROURBAN SOUNDSTAGE made its debut at Newtown Festival with a three-hour showcase highlighting talent from our community.

In 2026, we’re back — bigger and bolder — with a full day of incredible local artists, bands, and DJs from Africa, the Caribbean, and the Americas who now call Aotearoa home.

Honoring the whenua we stand on, we invite you to come through, catch the vibe, and experience AFROURBAN SOUNDSTAGE.
