Ruby Solly is a taonga pūoro practitioner hailing from Kāi Tahu, Kāti Māmoe and Waitaha. She works with taonga pūoro both therapeutically with whānau around Aotearoa, and also as a musician on te ataamira. She is passionate about the use of taonga pūoro for hauora and completed a PhD thesis on its history and future. Ruby is also a musician, composer and writer, teaching Māori and Pasifika creative writing at Te Herenga Waka University, as a published poet and author.
