9cups is the latest musical venture from longtime musician, beatmaker and now emerging DJ, Maz Hermon. 9cups is a house producer & DJ who grew up on boom-bap hip hop but later found a love of dance music through messing around with samplers, synthesisers, and drum machines and jamming with friends. 9cups’ happy place is a freshly made beat bounced to a dub plate to share with people dancing in the sun in front of some big subs. Or the latest find added to the USB to bring out smiles & stinky faces all round. Expect a mix of various house music, UKG & bassline with sprinklings of things you know. Whangārei born, ~20 year Newtown local with tangata Tiriti and Sri Lankan ancestry dropping his favourite tunes for a day time dance. Older projects include Roy G and the Bivinators & Western Dip.
