British-Jamaican, Anansi is bringing a blend of UK and Caribbean sounds to the table. Originally from the depths of the South Island, I started my DJ journey as a student in Dunedin, before moving up to Welly. I’m pumped to be share my love Bashment, Dancehall, Soca and more.
I chose the name Anansi in honour of the West African spider god, Anansi is an important figure in Afro-Caribbean culture as well and through music I can weave a web connecting me and my audience to my culture and history.
