Don and the Divorcees is a collaboration among Wellington singer-songwriters, Beans Wright, Hollie Wright, and Don Mackay. We each write slightly different types of songs, although all the broader folk-ish family. Beans roots are in British folk, Don draws more on Americana and country music, while Hollie’s songs have a more contemporary vibe. What we share is a rather old fashioned commitment to songs with meaningful lyrics. Expect multiple stringed instruments and lots of harmony vocals. During 2024 Don and the divorcees recorded their debut album for release in early 2025.
