jeline, your Filipina-Next-Door, is an indie-pop artist who’s always finding little parts of her thoughts and feelings to write about and amplify through music. A proud Filipino born and raised in Pōneke/Wellington, she’s been singing/songwriting from the age of 11, honing in her songwriting skills and creating melodies in her head since. With the help of her producer Jack Hegarty, jeline’s music has settled into a pop-indie-rock-electro pop sound, most evident with her newest single ‘time stops’ released in October 2023.

During her live gigs, she performs with W.K Bookclub, a band of four buddies formed to support their local solo artists friends. The band started in 2021 when band leader Jack Hegarty went looking for instrumentalists to support the artists he produced, like jeline, when they played live. From there he found Luis Sharp, a fellow Massey student and high school friend Eli Adams. The band was put on hold as they looked for a bassist, but in early 2022 Lily Hodgson-Bell joined Jack and jeline in a uni paper and was recruited. From then on, they continue to have endless bants, and of course, play gigs together and make music that people enjoy!

Despite the fact they’ve only been gigging for just over a year they’ve played at San Fran, Meow, Valhalla, Moon, Rogue and Vagabond and Vogelmorn Bowling Club. With meaningful lyrics, powerhouse vocals, stunning musicianship and charming personalities, jeline + W.K Bookclub are sure to hop on your radar!

"An upcoming act from Wellington, Jeline is a fun and energetic artist whose indie pop sound represents her and all her different styles. I got to see her for the first time and was blown away by the amount of energy she had from the first song to the last. Performing with WK Bookclub, Jeline shone on stage with her warm and raspy vocals and a stunning outfit. She made it hard to stand in one spot when she was moving around and engaging the crowd with her own little dance moves. "

"Wellington-local but proud native of the Philippines, Jeline is an artist with an incredible set of pipes! This lady brings it from somewhere way down deep, and then goes a little further. "

"Jeline is a star in waiting. She’s a proud Filipino. The Philippines should be proud of her too. "
