Known for her earthy acapella voice and unique weaving of stories, songs and poetry, Milly Moon is an independent artist drawing from a life lived close to nature and to her roots in poetry, prose and a veneration for unadorned song.
Moon gathers stories of love and other catastrophes on her travels (and from her wild small home in Waihi), the most recent collection exploring spaces between things and becoming collaborative production Birds of Paradise, which played earlier this year at Melbourne Fringe.
“Birds of Paradise is a unique musical conversation of the stories of our lives, exploring the space between us and how we might fill the gaps with song,” says Moon.
Singing acapella and with simple ukulele accompaniment, you can expect, in Moon’s alt-folk, soulful style, the authentic, the imperfect, a touch of the dark, and a sleeve full of heart.

"Milly’s vocals were astounding - deep, raspy and soaring. Her often simple, ukelele riffs and rhythms made space for the textures of her voice to tell stories "
