I’d like to take you on a roller coaster of emotions through music. My performance is a journey through my life, my influences, and the experiences that shaped me. As a Māori Samoan raised in a Pasefika family, there are beautiful values and expectations, and I explore the courage it takes to follow your own path while still honouring your culture.
I also share what it’s been like being a New Zealand–born, pale-skinned Samoan, and the feeling of not always fitting others’ expectations.
This act is about identity, authenticity, and resilience and I hope it speaks to people from all backgrounds.
