Indigenous artist collective Shifting Centre join forces with dear friends, DJ collective 6IXHAND, to take over the Good World Stage for a night built on rhythm and collective joy.

The night opens with a 7 to Smoke, a fast-paced battle format hosted by Shifting Centre that puts Pōneke’s dance community front and centre. Seven dancers representing a wide range of styles will be invited to battle for prize money in a format that values versatility, stamina, and instinct. The rules are simple: first to seven wins takes the crown — or, when time runs out, the dancer with the most wins claims victory.

After the final round, 6IXHAND take over the decks. Known for their genre-blending sets, 6IXHAND move seamlessly between today’s hits, throwback anthems, and festival-ready tracks that keep the energy high and the floor packed. Their sound pulls from multiple eras and cultural references, creating a mix that feels both global and deeply personal. More than just DJ sets, 6IXHAND create spaces that feel like home for the POC in the room.

Together, Shifting Centre and 6IXHAND offer a celebration of movement, music, and community. This is a night that honours street dance culture, Indigenous and diasporic creativity, and the power of gathering — where competition turns into connection, and the dancefloor becomes a shared language.

Come for the battles. Stay for the party.
