A programme set up to address the lack of Pacific Performing Arts programmes for our children aged 5 through to early college years, Tautua Dance Academy was the brainchild of Jayden Luapo and Sophia Uele, former graduates of Whitireia NZ Performing Arts school. Tautua Dance Academy have been teaching Pasifika Performing Arts for over 10 years and hundreds of families have put their kids through the school which not only showcases the culture but allows the students to learn about their language, traditions and dance. The programme has been highly successful with their showcases selling out every year. They were the highlight for our stage in 2023 with their Siva afi set (fire dance), so we had no choice but to invite them back for 2024.
