Wanderkamera is a wooden large-format camera built in Aotearoa and based in Berlin. Visitors can have their portrait taken and developed on the spot. The portrait can then be purchased and immediately taken home.
Bob Jones’ long-term project Wanderkamera integrates into various public spaces as a site for artistic exchange. In a fun way, they aim to offer a setting of social interaction and visual self-empowerment outside the fast-paced virtual world and the commodification of (self-)portraits.
Wanderkamera is part of Susurrations – an exhibition and event run by Women in Photography NZ + AU and Twentysix Gallery.
